Day 1 :

Dehradun to Sankri (1920 m)

Drive 198km/8-9 hours

Your beautiful journey for Sankri will begin from Dehradun. In the early morning from the Dehradun railway station or ISBT bus stand, we will start the drive to Sankri. For our trek, Sankri is the base camp. Sankri is a tiny yet pretty town nestled in the region of Govind Pashu National Park in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This small town is almost 198km from Dehradun. On the way to Sankri from Dehradun, you will come across stunning scenic places such as Kempty waterfalls, Nainbagh, and much more.In the late evening, we will reach Sankri and your night stay will be scheduled in a guest house or hotel. Also, get ready to enjoy delicious local cuisines. After reaching Sankri, freshen up and step out of the guest house to explore the beautiful village. Enjoy the drive that covers the pine forest section along with the river Yamuna on your side on your way to Sankri. You need to know the tiny hamlet of Sankri is the last road head in Govind Ballabh Pant Wildlife Sanctuary. Apart from this, you can also experience breathtaking views of the sun setting over the Himalayas in Sankri.

Day 2 :

Sankri to Seema (2400 m)

Drive 11km/1 hr + Trek 12km/5-6 hrs

After having breakfast, we will start our drive to Taluka from where your actual trekking will start. From Sankri, Taluka is almost 11km and we will reach there in 1 hour. From Sankri, you will drive through the covers of Bamboo and Deodar trees and also cross several brooks along a zig-zag road.

In order to reach the Seema campsite, we will start our trekking from Taluka which is a 12km trek. We will trek on an even surface through thick forests of chestnuts, willows, walnuts, chinars, and several other varieties of conifer trees. Remember this trekking stretch is going to be fruitful for you because it will warm you up for the further treks. During trekking, don’t be misguided by different alternative routes that lead to several villages of Jaunsar. After trekking for almost an hour along the river, you will reach Seema where camps will be set up as well as stay for the night. During the winter months, the path is covered with snow and slush.

Day 3 :

Seema to Rainbasera (3100 m) via Devsu Bughyal (3030 m)

Trek 9 km/ 4-5 hrs

Get ready for a long day trekking after having breakfast. After walking past Seema, you need to follow the track on the right. Make sure you do not take the bridge over Supin River on the left because it will lead you to Har Ki Dun Valley. Day 3 is all about moderate to difficult slopes and you can even see the confluence of Har Ki Dun. While trekking, you will also get the chance to watch the mixed scenery of meadows as well as forests. Seema to Rainbasera is a long 9km trek that involves time of almost 4-5 hours. As you will move toward Devsu Bughyal, you will watch that the path ascends and gets sharp. Also, get ready to explore the striking sights of the Kala Nag which is called Black Peak. The Devsu Bugyal meadows are set amongst the Ruinsara forest and while ascending towards Devsu Bugyal, you will get the chance to see a variety of beautiful Himalayan wildflowers and foliage. While trekking, you will also see some rare species.

Day 4 :

Day 4: Rainbasera to Ruinsara Tal (3,600 m)

Trek 8 km/4-5 hrs

Day 4 is going to be very exciting because you will trek to an eye-catchy glacial lake called Ruinsara Tal. It’s 8km to Ruinsara Tal and after trekking for almost 4 to 5 hours, you will arrive at the lake. The lovely Ruinsara Tal is surrounded by pastures and Rhododendron blooms which increases its beauty. Ruinsara Tal lies at 3,630 meters, making it an ideal campsite. Once you reach the Bali Pass base camp, simply take a deep breath, let go of your concerns and emerge in the beauty of this place. From the base camp, take a deep breath and admire the beauty of snow-covered Swargarohini peaks.The campsite is beautifully nestled in a location where on one side is the Ruinsara Lake and on the other side the Supin River. The views from the campsite are sure to leave you stunned. In the evening, you can spend some leisure time and explore the beautiful area. Don’t forget to take some gorgeous pictures. At night, hot dinner will be served at the campsite and retired in the tents for a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 :

Ruinsara Tal to Odari (4,100 m)

Trek 4km/3-4 hrs

Day 5 is a short trek from Ruinsara Tal to Odari that is about 4km. It will take almost 4 to 5 hours in order to reach Odari. The trek begins with a descent to the Supin River along with dense shrubbery. Once you cross the river through a bridge, you will incline to a small pasture and continue the trek in the south-east direction along the river. After you trek for an hour, you will reach Odari. The name Odari means rock cave that is made naturally, while the locals believe that Hanuman’s brother, Bali had spent a night here at Odari.

From Odari campsite, you can enjoy the amazing sights of Swargrohini peaks. If you are lucky enough then you can even find a rare Himalayan mountain bear. The camp is placed in a gorgeous location with the eye-catchy valleys below you and the Bali pass behind you. After having lunch, the trek leader will provide you with some training that will be helpful while trekking towards the summit. Make sure you have proper food and sleep so that you have enough energy to trek the summit

Day 6 :

Odari to Base Camp (4680 m)

Trek 4km/4-5hrs

Day 6 will begin with a short hike south west to the base camp but this time trekking is not going to be an easy one. We need to walk on a mountain ridge with a 60 degree incline. The trek from Odari to Bali camp is 4km and the camp is located at a height of 4680m. As you get closer to the Pass, the difficulty of the trek will increase gradually. From Odari camp, try carrying at least 2 liters of water with you because there are no water sources on the way.

Today, you will be camping at an altitude of 15,100 ft which makes it important for you to stay hydrated. To avoid the chances of experiencing acute mountain sickness, you need to stay active. The ridge that we will trek is sharply inclined at 60 degrees, making it a strenuous climb even though the distance is short. As you reach the height, the temperature starts dropping rapidly.

Night stay will be arranged in the camps and you will be served hot lip-smacking food. Remember this is the peak of the trek, making it important for you to carry all the trekking gear. You will also enjoy an outstanding sight of silvery snowfield here

Day 7 :

Base Camp to Lower Dhamni (3400 m) via Bali pass (4940 m)

Trek 12 km/7-8 hr

Day 7 is the summit as we will trek towards the highest point of the trek touching a height of almost 16,200 ft. After making the summit, you will descend to the next campsite at Lower Dhamni which is situated at a height of 11,100ft. It is vital for you to know that today’s trek is going to be the longest and most challenging as well. The day will begin early in the morning and head southeast towards the Pass. While trekking, you will get an excellent sight of Bandarpoonch, Black peak, and Yamunotri side as well. On the way, we will provide packed lunch to all the trekkers.

The complete track is filled with snow and you need to use the skills that your trek leader has taught you to trek in the snow. From the base camp, it takes the time of almost 2 to 3 hours to reach the summit. After reaching the top, you will enjoy the superb mountain sights that you might have never witnessed in your life. After spending some time at the top, we will arrive at the Lower Dhamni campsite. Night stay will be scheduled in the tents. During your stay at Dhamni, get ready to experience the beauty of nature at its best.

Day 8 :

Lower Dhamni to Janki Chatti; same day Janki Chatti to Dehradun.

This is the last day of the trek and the descent down is quite easy when compared to the other days. The initial track is through the forest which then merges into a concrete path. The trail is 4.5 km long with a mild ascent till Yamunotri. To reach Yamunotri, will take the time of almost 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you reach Yamunotri, you can also take a dip in the sulphur hot springs of Yamunotri. Try taking a bath in the hot water springs because this will definitely take away the pain in your legs. From the shrine of Yamunotri, we will choose the pilgrim’s route to Jaan Ki Chatti which is almost 8km. Here the track is easy & well-defined as well. During the trek, you will be served with a packed lunch. With lots of new experiences and beautiful memories, your trekking journey will come to an end at Janki chatti. With an exciting trekking experience, you will head back to your home.If your package cost includes taxi service then we will leave the same day from Janki Chatti to Dehradun. Otherwise you can make your own arrangements from janki chatti, our service will end at janki chatti.
