Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Manali to Chika via Jobra

Your journey for Hampta pass will begin from Manali from where you will be driven to Jobra in a car. Manali is located at a height of 6,700 ft, making it a good place to acclimatize before starting the trekking to Hampta pass. From Manali, it is 2 hour drive to Jobra.

Remember Jobra is the base for your trek and is nestled at an elevation of almost 9,800 ft, while the trek to Chika will take you to a height of 10,100ft.

Day 1 is about an easy trek along the banks of Rani Nallah through a mixed forest of birches, pine, and green maple. Walk through the meadow and you will reach Chika at the end of the massive meadow. Remember climbing the hill and descending to Chika is an easy route.

Night stay will be scheduled in the camp from where you can see the Rani river flowing. You might even find some horses grazing in the paddocks, giving you a perfect setting to click some Instagram-worthy pictures. Also, hot and delicious food will be served in the camp after which you can rest and get prepared for the next day.

Day 2 :

Chika to Balu ka Ghera

Trek : 9km, 5-6 hours

Altitude : 14,400 ft

After having breakfast, you need to start your trekking to Balu Ka Gera. It is a 4 hour easy gradients to Balu Ka Gera which will also be your campsite for the day.

This track is easy and along the banks of the river most of the time. while trekking, you will go through rough terrain as well as the slope of stones. There is a steady ascent and you also get the chance to enjoy mesmerizing views of the Dhauladhar range in your background.

At the time of trekking, you will be stunned to get a mesmerizing glimpse of Indrasan Peak. With time, the backdrop turns into a fairytale, and the slope increases till the Jwara Nala. The most exciting part of day 2 is, crossing the river which demands special precautions.

On this day, you need to cross two rivers, one near the Cheeka campsite and the other at Jwara. For the adventure seekers, this is an exciting part as the water level will reach your knee for which you need to open your shoes.

Balu Ka Gera is a perfect place for camping as it is surrounded by massive mountains and lush green.

Day 3 :

Balu ka Ghera to Shea Goru via Hampta Pass

Trek : 7km, 7-9 hours

Altitude : 14,100 feet

Today, we will trek for Hampta Pass which is your ultimate destination nestled at a height of 14,107 feet. This trail will take you through the river with pretty orange and pink flowers on the bank.

The trail along the river will take you to the actual base of Hampta Pass from where the demanding trek will start. After crossing the two ridges in order to reach the pass, you will come across Deo Tibba Plateau. The ridge top will provide you a glimpse of another parallel ridge behind which you can see Hampta pass.

Now you need to trek through the mixture of ascents and descents which will involve some time. After crossing some steep climbs and putting effort, you will reach the Hampta Pass.

The breathtaking panorama views from Hampta pass are worth your sweat. Don’t forget to spend some peaceful time watching the magical Himalayas.

Now start descending back to Shea Goru where your night stay is scheduled. The trail is steep and trickier, so you can even slide down as it can be a fun option.

Day 4 :

Shea Goru to Chatru and Drive to Chandratal

Trek 6 km each wTrek : 7km , 4-5 hours

Drive : 50km, 4-5 hours Chatru

Altitude : 11,000 ft

Chandratal Altitude : 14,100 ftay/8-9 hrs

Among all the trekkers, Sher Goru is the most favorite campsite. Here you are going to find the contrast in the settings. It is considered a mesmerizing desolate valley of Lahaul. Apart from this, the perfect addition of wildflowers as well as small streams passing by makes it beautiful.

This attractive set is a dream landscape for every mountain lover, trekker, and nature lover. Along with the background of the Lahaul and Spiti range, the Pir Panjal Range rules the full landscape of Hampta Pass.

You need to trek to the campsite of Chatru. In case, the roads are good enough to ride then you can even head towards Chandratal lake which is 78km and takes only 2 hours to reach.

Drive to the Chandratal lake which is an emerald blue lake in the Lahaul and Spiti district, offering you jaw-dropping views. The vivid colors of the lake and the desert mountain is sure to offer you unforgettable memories. On the same day, we will trek back to Chatru camp where your dinner will be served.

Day 5 :

Chatru to Manali via Atal Tunnel

Drive : 65 km, 3-4 hours

Reach Manali By Afternoon

After having breakfast, we will drive back to Manali from Chatru camp which is really picturesque. It’s time for you to say goodbye to the Spiti valley and head back to Manali. For all the trekkers, we will arrange a ride back from Chatry campsite to Manali.

You will be reaching Manali in the evening after 6-7 hours of the journey which is filled with beautiful memories of the mountains. After arriving at Manali, all the trekkers can disperse for their journey home accordingly. Say goodbye to this beautiful and marvellous trekking.
